been there alot bar tender are are along with the host just seems philadelphia is hurt because the economy - come and go crowd but very nice people

Great Irish Pub! This place captured the spirit of Philly. I was passing through on a tour, played there on July 7th. Talented musicians, good food, and lots to drink. Add this place to your list of Open Mikes to be at some point in your travels.

DOWNEY'S is a well known bar in Philly right at the corner of Front & South streets. The Open Mic is the beginning of live music at Downey's -- there will soon be live bands on the 2nd floor! The Open Mic is on the first floor, right by the bar area. Even on a Monday there is a nice crowd at the bar, we just need musicians to come out and play. Covers or originals, either is welcome.
