Great open mic. Good music, and loose environment. Great place to try out new stuff. There is a very supportive group of musicians and listeners alike. There is a great sounding mix running through speakers throughout the bar. The host, Dan, is great… Very supportive and easy going…
Chuck (1/2008): I really liked this open mic night. There was a place at the bar for me, a nice and helpful bartender, I was able to play my music in a timely fashion, host was friendly and supportive, BBQ pulledpork quesadillas very good! And their selection of beers on tap is great. Try MagicHat HocusPocus Hefeweissen. I give the open mic here a B+, pretty good allaround.
Adrienne Leasa (6/2007): This is a good night, but look out for a couple of guys playing little acoustic guitars - one is Scottish (I think) and swears a lot, the other is a local guy. They're wild - pretty unique sounding and definitely kind of edgy for an open mike night! Very original. Otherwise it's what you'd expect from a friendly open mike night.
Leonard Corn (1/2006): We love this place and the way host, Dan Franz runs it with a friendly firm hand. Though, as most openmic's, the audience may consist mainly of singer/songwriters, they WILL give you a very attentive listen. About a 4 song slot. The talent we've heard was top-of-the-line for the most part (including Dan who is superb!) The atmosphere as it gets later and the list loosens up is akin to a friendly jam. Very, very cool place to put some well-rehearsed numbers out there for a solid listen.
